ABPAGS-D (Adams Bayou Paddle and Grab series) Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Mudfrog: Checked on these and found some were in need of maintenance and a few seemed to be missing. There's no interest in finding these kinds of caches these days so I've decided to archive them all.

Geocache Description:

I placed the first 16 of the ABPAGS series about a month ago. This cache is part of the second installment.

As you might suspect, these caches require some form of waterborne transportation. The caches were placed while in the kayak and as such, are tailored more to that form than others. There were many logs, stumps, and lots of shallow water to negotiate so kayak or canoe would probably be best to use.

ABPAGS 1 through 16 were placed south of MacArthur Drive. This 2nd installment, indicated by letters of the alphabet, takes you north up Adams Bayou. Most of the caches themselves are paddle and grabs, meaning you can just pull up to and get them from the comfort of your boat. However, there are a few that require exiting of your rig to get to. You'll be finding that all the caches are soda tubie in size and have no writing utensils so you'll need to bring your own to sign the logs.

As with all similar areas, be on the watch for many varieties of wildlife. This is a birder's paradise with no telling how many species a person might encounter. It's also well suited for other critters and plant life that you might want to avoid. Gaters, snakes, spiders, wasp nests, and poison ivy are just a few. All are interesting but you do want to watch where you put your hands and feet.

Don't forget, the Bonus Cache is out here somewhere so be sure to keep an eye out for the 2 digits needed for finding it.

That's about it except to reiterate that these caches will take some effort to get to and are placed out in the wild. The entire series can be done in a day but be prepared to be out on the water for much of the day if you attempt this. Having essentials such as life jacket, drinks, a snack maybe, skeeter spray, sun protection, phone, and camera, is a good idea.

We hope you enjoy your day out on the water,,, Goodluck!
