Geocache Description:

Should be wheelchair accessible but the track is a little uneven.

This cache is only accessible between the hours of 10am-3pm on every day except Saturday.

There will be no need to leave the path to retrieve the cache, please avoid doing so to protect the native flora. If this cache causes any detriment to the Sanctuary I will have to remove it.

The La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary has been around for more than 40 years now, and the most extraordinary thing about this place is that, aside from a few old growth trees, it has been entirely restored by people. The Sanctuary is used for education, not only for university students but also for school children.

The full history can be found here:  http://www.latrobe.edu.au/wildlife/about/history

I’d like to dedicate this cache to the wonderful staff and volunteers (past and present) that worked so very hard to create and maintain this Sanctuary of nature.
