The town of Los Barriles is famous for its annual windsurfing and kitesailing competitions, and as a starting point for Baja road and desert auto racing, but it is also worth a visit to experience the restaurants and tourist oriented stores scattered throughout the community.
At the entrance to Los Barriles there is a fountain shooting water into barrels, symbolic of a time when sailing ships supposedly called here to get their water supplies replenished. Further down the street you can buy oranges and juice from vendors (in season), maybe have lunch at Smokey's Bar and Grill, or take time for a beach walk.
