Cache is located in Hungry Mother State Park a short distance from Marion VA on state route 16 on the Clyburn Ridge Loop Trail.

This is a new trail that was opened in 2012 and offers the biker or hiker an opportunity to get a little exercise and see the beauty of nature. There are some moderately steep areas of the tail but nothing that can’t be handled by taking your time and resting when you feel like it. The cache is located off the trail and out the ridge about 200 feet. The container is a 50 cal. Ammo can. There isn’t a need to bushwhack on this one just wait to you come to a turn on a ridge line (see refferance cords) and then walk up and out that ridge to the smiley. Please trade even or trade up and conceal the cache again to give the next cachers an enjoyable hunt.

Note: In all Virginia state parks you have to have permission to hide a geocache. Stop by the Headquarters building in the park and ask to talk to the official in charge of reviewing the Geocache Placement Application you will have to obtain from them. Let them be aware of your desire to hide and maintain a geocache in the park. Most parks may ask you to “not” make the cache for Premium members to allow the general plumbic the opportunity hunt while visiting the park. All my caches have been placed by permission at Hungry Mother State Park.
