CMF stands for "Country Music Favorites." I wanted to hide a series of caches celebrating some great country music. Each cache will represent the subject of the song and be in an appropriate location. Why country music? In the words of country artist Brad Paisley: "This is real. This is your life, in a song." Country music represents each of our lives and our experiences, especially here in Wallowa County.
"Runnin' from the rat race just as fast as I can. Take off my tie so I can breathe. Me, I'm goin' where the fresh air's blowin'. Take a little walk in the country with me... Walk in the country with me. Watch the sun sinkin' down on the trees. It's gonna do us some good to get down in the woods. Take a little walk in the country with me."
This cache will take you to the back enterance to Iwetemlaykin park. To get here, just drive down Highway 82 until where it makes a sharp turn to the left as it goes to the lake. Instead of turning, go straight ahead, to the end of the road. Here, you will find the trailhead. The cache is not far from here. Why not take time to find this cache and the other cache found in Iwetemlaykin? The walk in this park is enjoyable and refreshing. The walk is not difficult. Keep your eyes open for deer, foxes, snakes (nonvenomous), and occasionally a bear! Enjoy the beautiful scenery just outside of town and the caches found here!
