Geocache Description:

Easy, year-long access. Beware of muggles. The cache only contains a log book and pencil, and the log book isn't located as obvious as it would seem.

"Come and play with me!" he eagerly said
As he grabbed his ratty ball and ran on ahead.
When he reached the door, he quickly turned and stared
In case I forgot the routine … if ever I had dared.
"Now, exactly who's the Master?", I questioned myself in silence
As I sighed and turned to follow him ...well trained I am, in compliance.

I'd just arrived home from hard day on the job
I had dreams of a couch, a cool drink, be a "blob."
Tossed my keys to the desk just inside the door
Hung my coat on the hook as I'd done each day before.
I reluctantly glanced at the hook just beside it
Where I'd hung the old leash with a toy tucked inside it

I had waited many years for my kids to move on
Making they're own way each day without me to depend on.
For their after-school "fun" that always required my presence
The late night meals and laundry, there'd long been an acceptance
I believed one day again, my time would become my own.
I could make my plans at random. It's clear I should have known.

That the day I allowed this little stray to invade this house of mine
The grind would start all over again ...again I'd have no time...
Yes, the kids are grown and gone away, no more is the house full of chatter
But then the thought slowly entered my mind, the things that really do matter.
This demanding little dog is just sharing his love, like my children did ages ago
There standing before me eagerly waiting….The truth is, now I know.

Those who counted on me every day really counted, so I offer up this epilogue.
I wouldn't trade a single free hour for this precious little time with my dog.
