Geocache Description:

LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION!

Come check out this typical Northern Wisconsin vacation property.

We can’t say enough about this lovely real estate. It is a wonderful woodsy spot in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest. The property is high and dry with a bird’s eye view of the nearby lake and its recreational opportunities. There is easy access to the lake, where you can join the swimmers, boaters, and fishermen to take full advantage of the waterfront.

The owners have also placed four other caches in the area for your further enjoyment. What better place to spend a little time enjoying the great outdoors?

This little beauty is the perfect fixer – upper. It’s small and cozy but needs a good handyman’s touch.

Many families enjoy swimming and playing on the two big rocks at the beach nearby, so be careful of muggles.

The dirt road in is a little tricky, so you will probably need a high clearance vehicle. We have entered a waypoint for the parking coords, which is as far as you can drive in. There are DNR tank traps some distance before the swimming and cache area, so you'll have a little hike to find this one.

THE ROAD TO THE PARKING COORDS HAS GOTTEN MUCH ROUGHER THIS YEAR, SO WE WOULD SUGGEST PARKING JUST OFF THE BLACKTOP ROAD AND WALKING IN - OR PARKING AT THE ALTERNATE COORDS WE HAVE ADDED AND WALKING (OR DRIVING ALONG THE POWER LINE FROM THERE IF YOU HAVE A HIGH CLEARANCE VEHICLE). (You would pass right by GC1X63G before making a right turn onto the narrow road heading back toward the original parking coords.)

There is a very interesting large multiple branched tree that you will pass on your walk in. We have entered a waypoint for this cool tree, too, in case you want to check it out.

If you'd rather canoe or kayak in, you can use the public boat landing on Rainbow Road off County Highway D on the south side of the lake. (That is also very near one of the other caches - GC1X61F.)

We hope you will enjoy this nice spot as much as we do.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Sonja Margitan of the Wisconsin DNR.
