The coordinates will take you to the top of a hill known as the Buddy Brown Hill. Buddy Brown and his family lived in a log house at the foot of this hill, as did his father and grandfather before him. Navigating this steep hill was quite a task for horses back in the day. To prevent a wagon from going too fast down the hill, a driver would often use a chain on the back wheel, called a wheel lock chain. This would prevent the wheel from turning and cause it to slide, thus slowing down the wagon. If the wagon was not restrained in this matter the driver could loose control and wreck, or could run into the back of the horses and injure them. They would stop at the bottom of the hill to remove the chain and allow the horses to drink from Back Creek before continuing on their journey. Buddy and the log house are long gone now, but his namesake continues to live on.
