Geocache Description:

This cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. This is a multi-cache. You must gather information to determine the final coordinates.

Park hours are 8 AM to dusk.

Twentieth cache in the NMS (No Micros Series). Every cache in this series will be a small or larger.

Fitzgerald Park is a beautiful 78-acre destination for year-round recreation with sedimentary rock outcroppings known as "The Ledges."

Motor vehicle entry fees of $3 may be charged. First Wednesday of every month is free-entry day. To stretch your caching dollars, visit each of Eaton County's parks on the same day and use one permit for entry to all parks.

To find this cache you will need to gather information from two locations very close to each other. Then, use the information gathered to locate the final.

The posted coordinates will take you to a historical plaque. From this plaque, gather the following:

  • A = Third digit of the year at very bottom of plaque in small text
  • B = Second digit of the year spiritualists established a summer campground
  • C = Third digit of the year park's namesake governor died in office

It's now time to go to the second stage. I've provided coordinates, but you really don't need them. Just look toward the Ledges Playhouse (the large red building) and walk to the red bench. On the bench you'll find a small plaque. From this plaque, gather the following:

  • D = Number of letters in the word following "being"
  • E = Last digit of the year on the plaque
  • F = Number of words in the first line of text (count the one in parentheses too)

You'll find the cache at: N42 45.ABC W 084 45.DEF. Most of the route from parking is on established trails with only the last 20-25 feet off trail.

Container is a small lock and lock. It can hold small trade items and is stocked with a few items to begin with. Please rehide as good or better than found but keep it in the original hiding spot.

Congratulations to GeoMiss for the FTF!
