After one final check of its contents the man closed the strangely glowing golden cylinder and with a couple of quick deft movements resealed it within the ancient storage container.
“That’s it? As simple as that?” asked the hatchet-faced man watching the process from across the clearing while munching on yet another snack plucked from a seemingly endless supply.
“As simple as that,” echoed his partner. Grinning, he added, “So simple a cave man could do it”, as he rose to his feet and contemplated his handiwork.
Piranha studied the cache over yet another almond-crusted trail bar and grunted to his lanky associate, “Caffeine, ya don’t need a hammer, crowbar, screwdriver or nuthin’ to open that thing.” He shook his head perplexed, “ A freakin’ 5 year old could open it in 5 seconds flat. How come the boss thinks that thing’s ever gonna be safe?”
“Well, in this case, it’s a matter of brains over brawn which,” Caffeine paused and rolled his eyes for effect, “explains why you couldn’t figure out how to open it until I showed you….Besides, the real protection is that only the cleverest and bravest adventurers can even locate this treasure, let alone recognize it for what it is, or figure out how to open it.
There is only one group of unique people who have the skills and ability to locate and open this find and that is exactly what the boss had in mind when it was created.”
“Ah” the shorter man nodded catching on at last, “Geocachers.”
“Exactly”. Caffeine nodded. “Geocachers”.
