4x4 is needed to get to cache site. Most of the road out is decent dirt road but once you make it over the boarder it can get pretty sandy and there or some pretty rough spots on the way up. Take Walker Box Ranch Rd off highway 164 outside of Searchlight till you get into California then follow your gps. The 3.5 difficulty rating is because of the terrain at the cache, not so much the hide. Cache container is a large ammo can.
