Geocache Description:

This cache is placed near or in a pump house or springhouse that was the main water source for the Huguenot plantation that was on this property.  The plantation main house is no longer there and now this property is part of the Rails to Trails network in McCormick County.

There is a small parking area right off the main road. If you miss it or don't want to clamber down the slope, drive on to the first road to the right, turn onto it, go to the end, turn right and drive down to a parking area. You can walk to the spring house down the wooden steps from the parking area.

This cache is a round waterproof container with a log inside. BYOP. If you drop the cache in the water and lose it, please let me know. I can easily replace it and you are forgiven.  Accidents happen.

This area can be extremely wet after rains, and even when dry, there is a stream that makes the surrounding area somewhat soggy, so be prepared to navigate the stream on a direct route or take the long way around to stay drier.
