A stroll by Roslin Glen Gunpowder Mill or along the Penicuik-Dalkeith walkway will bring you near to this cache
I've ridden up these steps with Pendragon so many times on endurance rides and hacks completely oblivious to the view behind me as we always came from the Roslin direction and it being near the beginning of the rides he was always somewhat excited! One winter day on the Roslin Glen endurance ride my companion told me to look behind me, partly to admire the gorgeous view of snow covered Pentlands in (mostly) blue sky and partly to point out the snowcloud coming in which not long later turned the world white around us!!!! Since then I've always remembered to stop and admire this view - I really do love it....
If coming by ponyback the route through the Gunpowder Mill walk is only open to horses April - September Outwith these months please come via the Penicuik-Dalkeith walkway
