L'Osservatorio astronomico di Torino (a volte riportato come Osservatorio astronomico di Pino Torinese) è un osservatorio astronomico sito a Pino Torinese in provincia di Torino.
La storia dell'osservatorio astronomico iniziò nel 1822 con l'astronomo Giovanni Plana, che dal Palazzo dell'Accademia delle scienze di Torino trasferì i pochi strumenti a sua disposizione a Palazzo Madama, aggiungendone altri più accurati, e dando inizio ad un'attività osservativa sistematica.
Cinquant'anni dopo il direttore Alessandro Dorna fece notare che era giunto ormai il momento di trasferire l'attività al fine di migliorare la ricerca. Infatti la sempre più illuminata e rumorosa Piazza Castello non era più il luogo adatto per l'osservazione degli astri.
The Turin Astronomical Observatory (sometimes referred to as Astronomical Observatory of Pino Torinese) is an astronomical observatory site in Pino Torinese near Turin.
The story of the observatory began in 1822 with the astronomer Giovanni Plan, which from the Palace of the Academy of Sciences in Turin moved the few tools at its disposal in the Palazzo Madama, adding others more accurate, and giving rise to systematic observational activity.
Fifty years after the director Alessandro Dorna pointed out that it was high time to transfer the business away, to improve the search. In fact, the more enlightened and noisy Piazza Castello was not the appropriate place for the observation of the stars.
Per opera di Giovanni Boccardi tra il 1907 ed il 1912, l'osservatorio di Torino si trasferì a Pino Torinese sulla collina Bric Torre Rotonda a 620 metri sul livello del mare.
L'osservatorio, oltre agli strumenti trasferiti da Palazzo Madama, venne dotato di un cerchio meridiano di Bemberg strumento utilizzato per seguire il movimento degli astri, e nel 1921, grazie ad una sottoscrizione pubblica, venne acquistato anche un astrografo, grossa fotocamera per fotografare gli astri.
Nel 1966 vennero installati nuovi cannocchiali, mentre la cupola fu sopraelevata di cinque metri. Inoltre venne edificata una nuova struttura in cemento armato foderato di vetri che ospita lo strumento più prezioso dell'osservatorio: un telescopio a specchio di oltre un metro di apertura, chiamato astrometrico ed inaugurato nel 1974.

The observatory, as well as tools transferred from the Palazzo Madama, was equipped with a meridian circle Bemberg tool used to follow the movement of the celestial bodies, and in 1921, thanks to a public subscription, was also bought a astrograph, a big camera to photograph the stars.
In 1966 they installed new telescopes, while the dome was raised by five meters. In addition was built a new concrete structure lined with glass that houses the most valuable tool of the observatory: a mirror telescope of more than a meter of opening, called astrometric and inaugurated in 1974.

Aperto al pubblico dal 28 settembre 2007, strutturato su 4 piani, di cui 3 interrati, presso Infini.to si realizzano attività divulgative, educative e formative rivolte al pubblico generico e alle scuole.

Open to the public from September 28, 2007, structured over 4 floors, of which 3 underground at Infini.to are made outreach activities, education and training aimed at the general public and schools.
