Geocache Description:

This is my Old Barns I've Played At Series, I'll try to get caches at all of the rinks I've played in but I think some of them already have caches.

This cache is located very close to an old rival rink from my childhood . I played many away games here, but for some reason I can't remember the name of the original Wolfville team. If anyone remembers please put it in the log and I will change the information here. Today thought it's actually been changed into a live stage theatre. I remember when Wolfville moved from here to the new arena which is just down the road (which also has one of my OBIPA caches). When it was a rink it had some unique features, the most notable was the visitors net was actually under a walkway. This allowed the fans to get a unique view of the home team scoring a goal. My Dad's story for this building pertains to that walkway back when he was a student at St. Mary's University. When SMU visited Acadia, apparently it wasn't uncommon for some of the less respectable Acadia fans (translates to drunk students) to show their displeasure of the SMU goalie by expectorating in his direction (translates to spit on his head). That was a different time, I'm sure that kind of thing would never happen now. But knowing certain hockey fans, I'm sure that thought has crossed their minds once or twice after a miraculous save.
