The Kinzua Cachers will again be hosting the Winterfest Geomeet at Yurt Number 1 in the Chapman State Park campground. The game will begin at 10:30 AM and you will have about 4 hours to wander around the park finding the Winterfest game caches. Once you have found your temporary caches and collected your game pieces, you will be able to bring your game pieces back to the headquarters and turn them in for scoring.
The game pieces you turn in will determine your score for the event, however, scoring will not be announced until after the game concludes. Highest ranking scores posted will get first choice of available prizes beginning at 3:00 PM .
There will be lots of fun things going on at the park and lots of good food available to help us all brave the elements. There will be the usual travel bug exchange and lots of good companionship around the campfire outside the yurt.
This is The Eighth Annual Winterfest Geomeet.
Please note: This event will happen SNOW or NOT!
The coordinates above are for the YURT in the campground where the registration for the geomeet and game take place. Load additional waypoints for suggested parking for the geomeet and also for the introductory geocaching seminar which takes place at the environmental learning center near the entrance to the park.
