Geocache Description:

Let's go fishing!

This cache marks the start of this section of the Te Ara Tahatika o Manawatū walkway, which extends from Ashhurst to Maxwells line, although the city council are still negotiating access for about a third of its length (as at Nov 2013). It follows the Manawatu River which has eels, rainbow and brown trout, and even perch closer towards the sea.

Trout fishing season is October to April. You are welcome to go fishing anywhere along the river, but you will need a fishing license. The easiest way to get that is to arrange it though an outdoors store that specialises in hunting.

Me, I'm terrible at catching fish. I prefer to stalk geocaches.
