Geocache Description:

A parkland in a new housing development in an area that used to be an old quarry and brickworks...

The Quarry.

This new housing estate was once an old quarry that used to fill my younger days with joy. The side of the creek was quarry owned by Brittan Brick Works (now defunct, obviously) and it used to be our "Other Back Yard!" for riding bikes and trail bikes, making cubbies from the cast off bricks and rubbish and tree houses (with handfuls of nails flogged from the "old man's shed" (dont tell him that though!

I also used to have 2 bee hives in roughly this location with the permission of Mr Brittan, himself.

The northern side of the ''creek'' - the park area (and the house blocks on the uphill side) at the "new end of Ingham St" was what we referred to as "The Paddock", which used to have horses and the occasional cow. It's also where I learnt to ride these bikes.

These areas still hold a very special place in my heart, even though the use is going to be very different.

Now my neice plays on the playground equipment that has been set up, rides her bike on the manicured lawns of the open space and will likely never know the previous use of the area.
