Summary: If you were to continue to travel on the trail to complete the entire loop you will hike a total of 2.3 miles (easy) A park favorite, this trail guides you from the beautiful lower Sonoran Desert scene slowly up the side of a mountain to some spectacular viewing areas of San tan Valley (roughly 150 ft of elevation gain over 1 mile). This loop has a few small hills and narrow areas. The Stargazer loop is quite spectacular on a full moon or during wildflower season (mid-February to April).
