This is a tribute cache to our friend, Diane (Twinkletoes2008), for achieving 4000 finds. She began geocaching in April of 2008. At her first attempt, we tried to guide her, and told her to stick her hand in a big hole in a large tree. She looked at us like we'd lost our minds, and said defiantly, "I AM NOT STICKING MY HAND IN THAT HOLE!!!" Fast forward to now, she has 4000 finds.
Even though Diane's husband passed away in 2009, she kept geocaching. She enjoys geocaching with friends, but she's found tons of caches by herself.
Diane has been known to spend an hour or two at just one location, searching for a cache. If she doesn't find it, she goes back, time and again.
One of our favorite stories is when Diane was geocaching in the winter. She had a white walking stick and was poking around in a snowbank by a White Castle restaurant. She didn't realize people inside the restaurant were watching her, and they assumed she was blind. When they went out to help, she had to explain what she was doing.
Diane loves people and always has a beautiful smile on her face. She really helps to make geocaching fun.
Congratulations, Twinkletoes, on 4000 finds!
