This cache is placed near the road in a scenic location, with a view of a beautiful forest and mountains.
In 1988, this area, known as Salt Creek, was burned by a forest fire. You can still see a few dead, charred trees remaining from this time. But it is alway fascinating to see how the life in the area just starts anew. In fact, some forms of plantlife NEED fire to start growing. While fire generally isn't desireable, especially when it's near our property, it is an important part of the ecosystem. It helps clean the forest and starts things growing again. Not to say you should go out and light the forest on fire, though!
The cache itself is a mixed nuts container with some swag. It should be available year-round, or at least most of the year.
Keep your eyes open for wildlife, including, if your fortunate, wolves!
Enjoy the cache and beautiful scenery!
