Finally, no more going around. The new bridge over Grand River was opened November 23, 2013. The bridge accommodates about 4,600 vehicles daily. The old bridge which needed a lot of repair was built in 1931. About 50 people attended the ribbon cutting ceremony after about a seven month construction on the bridge. This means a secure and safe structure for travel into and out of the city of Ionia.
