This cache will take you to the Springfield Art Museum, the city’s oldest cultural institution. The Museum is the permanent home for some 8,895 art objects representing thousands of years of culture. Special collections include 19th, 20th, and 21st century American paintings, watercolor, sculpture and prints.
Since you will have to enter the museum to find the clues, this cache can only be found during the museum's hours:
Sunday: 1 PM - 5 PM
Monday: CLOSED
Tuesday: 9 AM - 5 PM
Wednesday: 9 AM - 5 PM
Thursday: 9 AM - 8 PM
Friday: 9 AM - 5 PM
Saturday: 9 AM - 5 Pm
The Museum is closed on city and national holidays.
There is ample parking immediately to the west of the museum. Obviously, don't bring pets into the museum and do not touch any of the artwork.
Permission granted by Nick Nelson, Springfield Art Museum Director. Thanks to him and Kate Baird, Springfield Art Museum Educator. Also, special thanks to the Missouri geocaching volunteer reviewers - Gln, Banjo Boy and Mongo - who do an incredible job!
With no further ado, here are the clues to help you find the final location of this cache. All of this information can be found inside the museum. I've also added a hint and a checksum for you to use in case you run into difficulty. As of 8-2014, I've modified the cache so that all answers should be accessible, even when exhibits are being changed. If you cannot access the information for any question, please message me and let me know.
