Caribbean to Carolina #39 - Pirate Cpt Chris Moody Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Nat Sherman: Had a good run with this cache. Looks like they are going to be cutting down some trees and bushes and clearing land where the cache is located so going to be archiving one. Thanks to everyone who found it over the last 11 years!

Geocache Description:

Having lived on the Coast of Carolina for 20 years, I suddenly found myself landlocked in Tennessee for the better part of two years recently. While there I placed some 40 caches, all named after Jimmy Buffett songs to remind me of the sea until I could return.

Now that I'm here in Beaufort, I've decided to place some caches to celebrate that I'm finally back to the sea, though for how long is anyone's guess as pirates are ruthless these days.

Each cache in this series will be named after a famous North Carolina pirate. Pirate Captain Christopher Moody was a notorious pirate very active off the coast of Carolina in 1717, with two ships under his command. He was only 23 years old at the time. In 1722 he was captured off West Africa and hanged in chains at Cape Coast Castle.

Some rules of the high seas as you seek this treasure:

- Remember, this is a VERY HIGH MUGGLE area. Stealth is definitely required.
- Bring your own pen. This cache is a micro.
- Please replace EXACTLY as you find it or as it was "meant to be placed," and hopefully both of these will ring true when you locate this cache.

Congratulations to gantnellie on FTF!!!
