The Legend of Carrie Bell, first wife of horse trader Marion Bell. There are so many stories about the statue in the cemetery. Among them that eyes glow red at night or that she may wink at you. I do think that she had died in childbirth as she was 24 at the time of her death. After placing the cache, I had visit her statue and felt a bit of sadness around it.
Also in this cemetery are graves of Asa and Asa M Lake, founder of my village. Maylangton Hamlin who had built the mansion in 1882. Mount Blanchard is one of the oldest villages in Hancock County, founded in 1830. Named after the fur trader Jean Jacques Blanchard who had lived in the area among the Shawnee tribe from 1770 until 1802.
No need to cross any graves to get to the cache. Please no night caching. Placed by a member of Northwest Ohio Geocacher.
