Ebenezer? Hardscrabble? Cemetery Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

ShortCacher: I strongly encourage cachers to thoroughly read previous logs to get a feel for whether or not their time is worth the adventure of a possible dnf. I also encourage carrying a maintenance bag. I usually carry extra containers, pens, waterproof logs, baggies, and, of course, swag. Therefore, when I come across a potential dnf, I can PAF or contact the CO to hopefully figure out if it's missing, moved, or just haven't been able to find it. If it's damaged or missing, I then seek permission to maintain the cache for them. This is a wonderful way to keep caches thriving.

Sometimes the smiley isn't the final destination, but the adventure leading to it.

With that said, I have been unable to cache or maintain due to health reasons. I apologize for any missing or poorly maintained caches.

Geocache Description:

The map says Hardscrabble, the sign says Ebenezer. Please no night caching and be respectful. And you are more than welcome to buy me that house in the distance.

I have infrequently traveled down rt 24 going to Mt. Sterling, Rushville, Beardstown, and Quincy in the last few months. I have noticed that although there are a few caches along rt 24 there is only one off of rt 100. So I decided to scout out the area bordered by route 100 on the southeast and route 24 on the northwest. I found a couple dozen cemeteries! Just sitting there! They were crying out to me that they wanted to be the home of caches. They wanted travelers to stop by, take in the beautiful scenery in the area, and appreciate the countryside. I narrowed it down to 20 cemeteries that I thought I could probably access and were still in existence. I lost count of how many are on a map, but no longer exist. A few you can see from the road, but would have to hoof it in on possible private land, so I crossed those off the list, too. I hope you enjoy this little country detour I have created for you.
