Geocache Description:

This is a very easy, family friendly, filled with swag, Memorial Cache to honor the life of our daughter, RobynApril. Each Travel Bug originating in the cache is connected to Robbie’s life and has a hopeful mission. Each has a laminated card story attached to it with a travel request, All swag was carefully selected for their connections to Robyn. Her life story is posted within the cache.

Robyn was tragically killed in December 2008. We placed this cache on the anniversary of her leaving the earth to remind others to never take life for granted, to live and embrace those whom you love and who love you; to follow Robbie’s example of bringing light into dark corners … and as a reminder to Celebrate Your Own Life.

Robyn is an amazing spirit. She lit up any room the minute she walked in. We hope she can continue to bring joy and happiness to many new people, creating new connections, as she did in her life on earth.

Robyn loves family above all. Her dad, she and I owed a wedding business together as Music and Wedding Entertainment Directors ~ DJs ~ Justices of the Peace. We also taught Line Dancing together; she was an NTA Accredited Line Dance Instructor and a competitive ball room dancer. One of her nicknames is Byrd; and we changed the spelling of one of her favorite characters to Tweetie Byrd. Her favorite color is purple. She adores dolphins, Tinkerbell, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and EVERYTHING DISNEY; and not to forget the Disney Park roller coasters! She revels in The Muppets, Renaissance Fairs, motorcycles, convertibles, snowboarding, target shooting, camping and loved having Tea Parties with her mom. She enjoys the beach, especially Daytona, but her favorite season: Autumn ~ because of Halloween and her annual Halloween Costume Party!

On earth, Robbie was enjoying gardening, baking pies, putting up jams, apple sauce, and then sharing with others. Our annual Thanksgiving Day dinners were huge festivities, with invitations to anyone who might otherwise not have a place to be for the holiday. She would never, ever turn away a friend in need. She’d been known to show up on someone’s door with bags of food if she knew they were having hard time financially. She always looked outside of herself to others, recognizing that we are part of something MUCH MUCH LARGER than ourselves. Robbie is very spiritual and believes, as we do, that when we leave the earth we only shed the encasement, while the energy and spirit lives on. We know that Robbie Continues….
One of Robyn’s favorite movies is PAY IT FORWARD, a concept she always has whole heartedly embraced. We ask those who visit her cache to perform a Random Act Of Kindness within 48 hours of your visit (and, please, share what you did with us).

Her memorial cache has been filled with swag connecting to her life, so please bring trade items that fit the theme, if you are able.

Crystal Lake, Soapstone Mountain, Shenipsit State Forest are minutes away making for nice visits. The cache is easily visible, on old discontinued Route 140. You can drive right up to it.

Thank you for visiting!
Bettie-Jeanne, Forever Robbie’s mom
