Welcome to Union City, Michigan and the fabulous Arbogast Bridge. As of right now the bridge is closed off to traffic. Bridge has always been used for a trucking route and a nice road to avoid traveling through the small city. With the St Joe River and nearby Union Lake, this bridge is a major byway to this community. It is not slated to be fixed until 2016 via MDOT.
Swans nest nearby. Geese and Ducks are present the majority of the year as well as dedicated fishermen. The bridge is safe for walking purposes. You can access this cache from either direction but the northern side off M60 is going to be way easier. If you are looking to park and grab and not catch a view off the river try hitting this from the North. Otherwise both sides will do just fine. I have taken many pictures of this location which I will post a few as I find them.
