Beschrijving / geschiedenis
Deze Eeuwenoude watermolen, werd gebouwd voor 1300.
Het huidig gebouw dagtekent van 1904. Het metalen bovenslagrad heeft 2,60 meter doormeter en 1,96 meter breedte. Het vervangt sinds 1904 een totaal ontwricht houten rad.
De molen betrok het nodige water uit twee afzonderlijke vijvers.
Een vijver gelegen achter de molen en een tweede heel wat belangrijker, namelijk de visvijver van Overijse die 's zomers druk wordt bezocht door de vissers.
De molen van Overijse werd tot in de jaren 1960 als graanmaalderij uitgebaat door molenaar Louis Huyberechts. Later richtte een kleinzoon van hem, Erik Huyberechts, een sportkledijzaak in de maalderij in. Het binnenwerk van de graanmolen werd verwijderd. Het waterwiel verkommerde en lag er verroest en roerloos bij. De maalgoot ontbrak volledig.
Een andere kleinzoon, Willem Brankaer, ingenieur-architect van opleiding, vatte het plan op om daar verandering in te brengen. Samen met een aantal ex-collega's vormde hij begin 2001 het studiebureau 'Werkende Watermolens'. De site werd opgemeten en het plan van de bestaande toestand uitgetekend. Er werden offertes gevraagd in Duitsland bij de firma's Hydrowatt en Bega en er volgde een gesprek met de bevoegde provinciale dienst over de renovatie.
Ecopower realiseerde het project en doet de uitbating. In maart 2001 werd een principieel akkoord gesloten om de stuw en het bovenslagrad in erfpacht te geven. Dat rad werd grondig hersteld. Op 28 juni 2003 werd de molen officieel geopend. In zijn eerste jaar was de productie niet zo goed nl 20 000 kwh. Ondertussen is de sturing het rad en de toevoer zijn nu aangepast en de molen voorziet nu ongeveer acht gezinnen van elektriciteit

The current building dates from 1904. The metal overshot wheel has 2.60 metres diameter and 1.96 metres width. It replaces since 1904 a total dislocated wooden mill.
The mill was feeded with water from two separate ponds. A pond located behind the mill and a second and a lot more important, namely the fish pond of Overijse during summer time frequently visited by fishermen.
The mill of Overijse was until the 1960s as grain mill operated by Miller Louis Huyberechts. Later a grandson of him, Erik Huyberechts, founded a runningshop in the bulge. The Interior of the flour mill was removed. The water wheel languished and was rusted and motionless. Another grandson, Willem Baloch, architect engineer by training, came with the plan to change that.
Along with a number of former colleagues he formed at the beginning of 2001, the design office ' working Water Mills '. The site was measured and they mapped out the plan of the existing situation. Tenders were called in Germany at the companies Hydro watt and Bega and there followed an interview with the competent provincial service about the renovation.

Le bâtiment actuel date de 1904.
La roue en métal a 2,60 mètres de diamètre et une largeur de 1,96 mètres. Il remplace depuis 1904 un moulin en bois disloqué .
Il est nourit d’eaux par deux étangs distincts. Un étang situé derrière le moulin et un second beaucoup plus important, à savoir l'étang des pecheurs d’Overijse en eté visité frequement par des pêcheurs.
Le moulin de Overijse était jusqu'à les années 1960 un moulin de farinage exploité par Miller Louis Huyberechts. Par la suite fondé un petit-fils de lui, Erik Huyberechts, un runningshop. L'intérieur de la minoterie a été supprimé.
La roue à aubes langui et était rouillé et immobile.
Un autre petit-fils, Willem Baloch, ingénieur architecte de formation, a résumé le plan de changer cela. Aux côtés d'anciens collègues, il a formé au début de 2001, le Bureau d'études "moulins à eau de travail".
Le site a été mesuré et traça le plan de la situation existante. Appels d'offres ont été appelés en Allemagne au watt Hydro entreprises et Bega et il y eut ensuite une entrevue avec le service provincial compétent sur la rénovation.
EcoPower a réalisé le projet et effectue l'opération. En mars 2001, un accord de principe pour le lease du barrage de dérivation et la roue a été agrée. La roue a été soigneusement restauré. Le moulin a été inaugurée le 28 juin 2003.
Dans sa première année la production n’etais pas bonne 20 000 kwh. Pendant ce temps, le contrôle, la roue et l'alimentation sont maintenant réglés et le moulin offre désormais environ huit ménages avec électricité
