The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.
There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.
There are up to 194 interments here at this Anglo-German-Swiss site (although some graves appear to have been counted two or even three times), ranging from 1896 to 2013. This location is also referred to as the Prince of Peace Cemetery. Members of the Belz, Bunge, Kuhl (heavily represented), Lenz, Meiske, Meyer, Remmert, Roeske, Schroeder, and Stoll families are to be found here, amongst many others. Dates for a good number of the Kuhls are absent.
The grounds are adjacent to a church and are well-maintained. There is no fence or gate. Good parking by the flagpole. At any rate, as always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
