Geocache Description:

This event will hopefully enlighten geocachers to Earthcaching.

The first EarthCache was placed by geoaware on January 10th 2004 on a headland in New South Wales, Australia, GCHFT2, EarthCache I.  My first Earthcache find wasn’t until June 16th 2007 when I found GCZR1P, The Most Radioactive Town In America. Over the years I am proud to have seen the concept of Earthcaching grow in this region.

In order to celebrate 10 Years of Earthcaching, I, through PAGA, will be hosting an event.

To maintain some level of convenience and considering the simple fact that it is the middle of winter, this event will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2013. I would like to meet at 12 Noon to cover the basics of Earthcaching. We will then work together to ‘find’ an Earthcache - Rocks In A Stream” GC2FXQR. Being the owner of this Earthcache, I will make some “winter adjustments” to the requirements for the day. I hope to establish a sample table and have enough rulers, magnifying glasses and charts printed out to make this as easy as possible for everyone. I would also very much like to gear the completion of the requirements to educating children so if you have them please bring them. They will be able to do the work for the rest of us and really get in on the hands on activities
