It supplied water to Acco from the Cabri springs, 14 km away to the north, which lies ca. 70 meters above sea level south to Acco at sea level.

A large part of the aqueduct is in rubbles along those 14 km, while restoration works are commencing slowly over the years.
A beautiful authentic quite impressive stretch runs through an avocado grove, nearly in our back yard so to say!
At the cache location you will be able to touch the ancient stones, a lot of them containing tiny fossiled sea shells.
Directions to the cache:
Park near the main gate of Kibbutz Shomrat or drive up further and continue on foot. You follow the main road into the kibbutz which at some point goes a little up towards the west. Then make a right turn after passing a soccer field at your right side.
From there things will show themselves, look for traces of the aqueduct and follow it north.

Look at the images for pointers.
Please close the cache up well after you are done.
Note: The cache was muggled, new log and some swag temporarily in plastic ziplock - I had to move it one pillar to the south of the original location and change the size since the box with log and swag was gone besides the cover
YOU HAVE TO APPROACH THIS CACHE FROM SHOMRAT AT THE SOUTH SIDE. PARK NEAR THE BARRIER BEHIND THE POOL AND APPROACH ON FOOT, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!
