Geocache Description:

On an isolated hill in Hruševo stands a church that is dedicated to the prominent Christian saint George or Jurij (in Slovene). Saint George / Sveti Jurij (who lived from 280 to 303 AD) is one of the most venerated saints in the Catholic and Orthodox churches. All over Slovenia you will find churches which are named after him.

The cache is hidden in the vicinity of the church under a rock face. The approach to the cache site is dangerous, especially in winter. I do not recommend to search for this cache in snowy or icy conditions. Do not climb down the wall! Go around it. Be careful and do not fall or slide down the steep slope under the rock face! Walking sticks are a helpful device when you approach the cache site.

To receive the geo-coordinates of this cache (see GeoChecker) you have to solve the mystery that is hidden in the following texts:

Very little is known about St George. He is thought to have been born into a noble Christian family in the late third century in Cappadocia, an area which is now in Turkey. He became a soldier in the army of Diocletian. The emperor ordered the systematic persecution of Christians and George refused to take part in it. In 303 he was tortured and executed in Palestine, becoming an early Christian martyr.

The most famous legend of St George is of him slaying a dragon. In the Middle Ages the dragon was commonly used to represent the Devil. The slaying of the dragon by St George was first credited to him in the twelfth century, long after his death.
