At the end of term 4, 2013, the FIRST Robotics team at Normanhurst Boys High School ran a geocaching competition as a fundraising activity.
The goal was to find 14 geocaches hidden by the teachers across the school, collate the clues within and find the final cache which contained a key to a box in the principal’s office. The prize for the competition was a Raspberry Pi microcomputer.
The competition was completed in 6 days by a team of year 7 students, most of which have gone onto have a go at geocaching in the wider community.
This geocache was one of the 14 original competition caches and was left in place to celebrate the first geocaching competition at Normanhurst Boys High School.
This cache was left on school property with the kind permission of the principal, Mr Glen Sawle.
There is no need to enter the school; the cache can be reached from outside the fence. You will also need to bring your own pen.
