Geocache Description:

This cache is located close to the National Party half-centenary monument in the small town of Albertinia.

The National Party was a political party in South Africa founded in 1915, and was the governing party from 1948 until 1994.  This monument was built by the Albertinia National Party branch for the 50 year celebrations in 1964.  The monument was inaugurated by Minister P.W. Botha (who eventually became Prime Minister in 1978).  The plaque reads: "Our country and our people will prosper - God rules".

Most of the dates and small plaques have been vandalised by copper thieves.
