With the build of the bridge, construction of new road, the ferry is destined to pass away with the wave of the times. This Nanbajima ferry was stopped in May 31, 1982. The last day, this ferry did 64 cycles and the number of total passenger was 119.

橋や道路の整備が進みマイカーの利用が増えるにつれ利用客は遠のき、渡しは時代の波と共に消え去る運命にある。この難波島の渡しも昭和57年5月31日に廃止となった。最終日、渡しは64往復、計119人の乗客を運び、その役目を終えた。
