Geocache Description:

Welcome to LRTC (Letocetum Roman Town Circular). This is a 2.1 mile circular walk around Wall , one of Staffordshires most historic villages. Wall is known for the roman fort of Letocetum from around the 1st century. Letocetum was built for Legio XIV as the Romans advanced towards Wales. In the late 1st century a bath house and mansion were built on the lower ground for use by the soldiers, the remains of these buildings can still be seen today. The walk around Wall is one we often do with our geopooch whilst visiting friends who live in the village. There are 6 caches plus a mystery cache. All containers are small to regular in size. You can park at (N52 39.390 W001 51.517). The first half of the series (to cache no.2) is on public footpaths and crosses a field (suitable footwear advised). The 2nd half of the walk goes down 2 quiet lanes but please still keep an eye on geokids and geodogs. The walk has some stunning views of Lichfield and the surrounding area. We hope you enjoy the series. Good luck and happy caching. Wall of fame: Joint FTF: susannye & the mighty shark. STF: wayoffbeam. Joint TTF: cliford84 & m18nng.
