It seems that ever since we have started caching there has been a multitude of challenge caches in the area. Spell my name, find a cache on my birthday, ... find a cache while standing on one foot hopping up and down reciting the Gettysburg Address. Ok, so maybe I made that last one up, but you get the picture...
Don't get us wrong, we have really enjoyed these challenges and they have frequently pushed us to discover something new, go beyond our comfort zone or work just a little harder. We do really appreciate them; however, like everyone else we tend to grumble a bit.
This cache is designed to give everyone working on a difficult challenge a reward for their work...
Logging Requirements:
To begin with, you must select a challenge cache which you have not yet logged. In order to log this cache you must complete 1/2 of your selected challenge cache. You must state the name and GC number for the cache you are using and provide documentation (according to the standards of the cache you are using) that you have indeed achieved 1/2 of the requirements.
Some examples might include :
- Half Earthcache Traveler Challenage: Earthcache Traveler Challenge requires you to find one earthcache in 25 different states, so for this challenge you must find caches in 25/2 or 12 states. Note, for this cache, always round down when you need to round.
- Challenge: Half A busy Day: Cache Size Addition: CHALLENGE: A Busy Day: Cache Size Edition requires you to find to find at least one of each of the seven different container sizes in a 24 hour period, so for this challenge, you must find 3 different container sizes in a 24 hour period, or you may optionally find the seven different container sizes in a 12 hour period.
- Half A Multi Challenge: A Multi Challenge requires to find multi-caches on ten different consecutive days, so this challenge would require you to find a multi-cache on five different consecutive days.
- Note: An interesting twist on the previous example would be the A Half Multi Challenge where you must find half of a multi-cache on ten different consecutive days. I guess, you would need to do half the stages on one day, and the other half on a different day for ten consecutive days. But that sounds too frustrating to attempt.
It is up to you to determine what you want to cut in half, so be careful. You could end up making your life much more difficult. For example if you decide to work on Non-Trad Cache Challenge #4 - 31-31 EC's You could decide to try to find 31 earth caches in 15 days. We had trouble doing this in 31 days, but it your choice.
You might even end up making your task impossible. Consider doing Half Cats and Kittens Challenge Cache. This is based on Cats and Kittens Challenge Cache. We are not quite sure what a half cat or half kitten is, so we are sure you won't find any!
Recursive halving is not permitted, so you may not do Half Half Asked Challenge Cache, based on this cache, which would require you do to 1/2 of 1/2 of a challenge, which could be applied again so you would only have to do 1/2 of 1/2 of 1/2 of a challenge ... Eventually, you would have to do nothing to log the cache, and you should have to do something. Besides, this reminds me too much of calculus so let's just not go there.
Don't worry, we won't be too picky about the division, so have fun and be creative with your log.
Parking:
You should park at the given coordinates, cross the street, walk through our yard, along the road and down the path to the cache. We tend to keep the path mowed in the summer. Feel free to stop and weed the garden. We probably haven't since we would rather cache than weed.
You could park closer and jump the ditch but that would make the terrain much higher.
