Geocache Description:

The Story of Captain Sparrow and the Lost Loot

By day this area is a disc golf course where families, friends and children frolic and play as they enjoy the outdoors, but at night it transforms into a spooky adventure where you fight for your life. Back in the days, there was a famous pirate name Captain Sparrow; he was known to be one of the fiercest captains of all the sea and claimed his fair share of treasures. Toward the end of his life a global epidemic started to erupt and took the world by storm. It was some kind of disease that turned the average man into a flesh eating monster and the future was not looking so bright. With this in mind the Captain decided to hide his treasure among the dense forest of this park. Unfortunately, the disease caught up to the captain; now he is left wandering the forest during the night hours waiting for anyone that enters so he can make them his next meal.

Night Cache!

Be sure to read all of this in its entirety and the notes at the bottom before you head out!

This is a night cache as you probably know by now; this means that it will be a whole different experience, especially if you have never done one before. You will need to make sure you have a few items before you head out on your adventure. A flashlight is important as you will use it to light up tacs that have been strategically placed on many trees. Be careful though, some tacs may be farther than others, some you may need to turn 90 degrees or so to spot them, some may require you to pan the area with your light slower in order to spot them and some may require you to stand right next to them or in front of them to see the next one. When searching for these tacs you can pretty much use any flashlight (use a smaller or dimmer one for increased difficulty); but the most important thing is to keep the flashlight level with your eyes to best spot the tac, especially if it is a smaller light.

I highly recommend you bring a mobile phone with a QR scanner; it is not necessary, but it will make your experience more exciting and it will build of the already set back story for this cache. It will also ensure that the cords you will get remain legible and you will be able to read them no matter what the weather has done to it or other factors. If you do use the scanner, I suggest bringing a flashlight along with you too (besides the one on your phone) it may come in handy when you try to scan the code and please be patient with the code it may not work right away; if it still does not work try to flatten it out and make sure it is fully illuminated

The trail will begin on the 14th hole of this course and the posted cords should put you in the general area of the cement pad for the 14th hole. There will also be a wooden post with the number 14 on it. Once you get there you will need to face the woods straight on and stand on the far right corner to begin your journey. You will know you have reached the end on the trail once you spot two tacs side by side (instead of the normal tac by itself). At this point you will need to search to find the coordinates for the final stage (the loot). Once you get to the loot you will need to sign your name with the pen provided. This pen is unique as it is filled with the Captain's blood and is invisible to the naked eye, you must use the light on the cap in order to view your writing. Please use the light before writing to ensure you are not writing over someone else's log! Finally, there is a package of an unopened, inactivated travel bug tag for the First To Find (FTF). I wish you all good luck in finding the cache, but even more luck in making it out alive!

Happy Night Caching

SURVIVE!

Notes:

This cache is a night cache and should only be found at night; there are too many muggles during the day and the path will be hard to see. With that in mind, please wait till complete darkness to ensure all muggles will be gone and your experience will be at its highest.

Also, please make extra sure that both stages of this cache are returned to the proper spot and will not be spotted during the day. Being that it is dark it may be harder to make sure it is hidden properly, but taking the extra time to double-check will ensure the cache's stealth during the day as well as the next cacher's experience.

Finally, please be considerate when taking swag and make sure you leave some and replace some so that other people can find Captain Sparrow's loot, (glow in the dark swag is encouraged, as well as travel bugs!) After all, he is watching you and he will not be too pleased to see you taking all of his treasure!
