Small cache just off a rocky ridge trail in Red Mountain Park.
This small cigarette-pack-sized cache shouldn't be terribly hard to find for the observant cacher. It's located just off the uphill trail that begins directly in front of the Porta-Potties when you enter the park. Just follow the signs to the "Adventure Zone" ziplines and you'll eventually come to it near one of the highest points on the trail, where large rocks begin protruding from the path. Pack a lunch, but pass the picnic tables located near the entrance/bathrooms; there's a group of tables nestled just below the ridgeline on your right on the way to this cache. It's the perfect location for a peaceful meal or just a break from hiking. I'm giving this one a mild terrain rating for an uphill grade in places, but not too bad. Red Mountain Park is a lovely new addition to the city's parks. If you like hiking or mountain biking, it doesn't get much better than this! And the kids love the ziplines!
