When Lakeland Hills was first being developed in the late 1980s, the area to the east of this cache was deep forest, inhabited by coyote, bear and the occassional cougar, which was spotted more than once along this trail. A lot has changed since then, the forest replaced by over a thousand homes, but the trail is still here, referred to as "The Cougar Trail".
It's still a nice place to walk your dog, so the cache has somewhat of a dog theme to it. It originally contains 2 travel bugs, "Chester the Welsh Terrier" and "Elisabeths hand/Het reizende eendje".
