This series of caches is dedicated to the CB craze of the 70's, and my experiences with the people, places and events that came with it. For those of you old enough, I'm sure you remember and maybe even participated in the phenomenon that became the CB craze. For me it turned out to be a defining factor in my life. The technical aspect introduced me to radio and electronics, an interest I maintain to this day in the form of Amateur Radio. The social aspect introduced me to a huge number of people, a few of whom became life-long friends. The CB fad came and went, but it formed memories that would last a lifetime.
Here is some additional information about the CB and its popularity during this time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_Band_radio.
The Lamplighter Break
Shortly after the Dummy Club formed, we had our first club meeting. These meetings were essentially just big parties and were called "Breaks". The first one was at The Lamplighter Motel pool house. This turned out to be quite a large affair with well over 150 people attending. I actually have a scar from that night where I cut my arm on a finish nail sticking out from a wall. Good times. :)
