Welcome to Tallapoosa, Georgia! Tallapoosa was incorpated in 1860. Tallapoosa is located in Haralson County in Northwest Georgia, about 50 miles west of Atlanta just north of I-20 and east of Alabama. Haralson County was carved out of Carroll and Polk counties in 1856. Tallapoosa is located at the base of the ABC triangle (Atlanta, Birmingham and Chattanooga). The population is about 3000.
Tallapoosa is a small town with southern charm, but it is mentioned in a song by Johnny Cash called "I've Been Everywhere".
About the cache....The cache is located behind the Welcome to Tallapoosa sign just down the road from I-20. I wanted there to be a cache for you travelers just passing through. It is a large plastic container under a bush, so PLEASE slide it out and open it up. There is enough room for lots of swag and travel bugs. There is a notebook and pens for checking in, so if you don't mind please write where you are passing through from. I loaded the cache with lots of Travel Bugs, I bought back with from Ohio, so please take one along it's way. They are from all over, going to all over. There is also a FTF prize, so if you take it, PLEASE replace it. THANK YOU!

PARKING...Is across the street at the gas station. It is a easy find, but a LITTLE hill to walk up, but of course please be careful crossing the street. IF you have children, PLEASE help them cross the street.
