There comes a time in all geocacher's careers when they realise this hobby of chasing sandwich boxes around the countryside is for keeps, and after maybe 20-50 or more caches, decide they should perhaps start hiding some for others.
Now is that time, and the result is this, my first hide. Please be gentle, but do let me know if coordinates are out, or any other comments to improve this or future hides.
The intention is that this cache will help to link a number of other existing caches between Saffron Walden and the Chesterfords; other caches are planned for the near future to help the link.
Free parking is available at the waypoint, from which a number of other caches on footpaths are within reach, in addition to those within the fine old town of Saffron Walden itself. If you're a visitor, do take time to explore the town, perhaps visit the market (Tues, Sat) or recover from your caching in one of the many coffee shops in town.
Especially after wet weather the path to the cache may be muddy and slippy, do take care. The path is popular with dog walkers so look out for muggles and please replace properly.
