5,000 Days of Geocaching Traditional Cache

This cache was hidden to commemorate the 5,000^th day of geocaching.

January 10, 2014 marked 5,000 days following the hiding of the original “GPS Stash” in Northern Oregon on May 3, 2000 by Dave Ulmer (which makes January 9 the actual 5000^th day of geocaching).  You can read about the original cache at this Geocaching.com page.

By coincidence, January 10, 2014 also marked the 10^th birthday of the world’s first earthcache!

To find this cache, begin at the trailhead waypoint and walk east, then south.  Turn west into the woods where you see a rusty barrel on the ground (off the trail).  The forest is scenic, pleasant, and easy to navigate.  BYOP.
