At this location there once was a wonderful bridge called the Spider bridge, built with a famous inclined-plane, which took residents from Waterside and Kirkintilloch to Lenzie. It was a very impressive structure, and a great height. Unfortunately it was badly neglected and eventually pulled down in 1987, thus depriving the people of the district of a really unusual landmark and visitor attraction. Spider Bridge was beside the Auld Aisle Cemetery and had a super view over the surrounding area. As a child I remember walking over the bridge and playing by the burn underneath it, my most vivid memory was riding a pony over it one day and the pony deciding half way across that it wasn't happy! New paths take you to the cache from the Woodilee village side and from the new Earls View Cala estate side both ways are a nice walk which can be continued along the Bothlin burn to bag the other caches in this series. Video of the bridge in use and as it was demolished in July 1987 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXA2vUb7irE
