Geocache Description:

The Texas Spirit Quest
is a series of Caches placed by many individuals, near cemeteries and historic sites in hopes of paying respect to the many pioneer ancestors that have ‘walked’ before us.

There are hundreds of cemeteries in the rural communities across Texas. This series will introduce you to many of them. The cache pages will provide a virtual history tour of the cemeteries, tombstones and local lore.

There are 65 interments at this site, ranging from 1886 to 1985. Members of the Gentry, Jackson, Jones, and Roberson families have been laid to rest here amongst other. There are at least two graves for which only the initials of the decedents are known, with no accompanying dates.

Please note that the cache is NOT at the cemetery! It is evidently located at the end of this side road, but there's a sign proclaiming that to be a private drive, so I didn't want to route cachers into a confrontation. So I have placed the cache as close as I could safely get, although its general location strikes me as kind of creepy. As always, any refinements to the listed coordinates are welcomed.
