I was recently dismayed to see that one of my favorite caches was archived. FRAC by The Rat was a very important and memorable cache for me. While I had an interest in solving cipher type puzzles I had always labored manually or had written some specific tidbits of code to help me along. This was the first puzzle cache where I actually set about trying to write an automated solver. I got a little boot strapping from a friend then read the logs of the FRAC finders before me to learn some valuable lessons in writing an auto solver for these ciphers.
After quite some work my code finally managed to spit out enough of the plain text for me to find FRAC. Since then I've improved my FRAC solver and augmented my tool set to include solvers for several different types of ciphers. While one can find other publicly available tools to break these ciphers there is certainly some satisfaction in building your own.
So if your Fractionated Morse solver has been collecting dust or if you need a potential find as motivation to get writing your own solver here's a puzzle cache for you. Like the original FRAC it is enciphered consistently with the description given by the American Cryptogram Association (ACA) here. The plaintext is in normal English with words separated by spaces. The key is a phrase. Good Luck.
