a lovely walk down the TpT from town on a lovly sunny day
The cache is placed on the Trans Pennine Trail (T P T). So the ground is flat, but uneven and muddy in places, only the last 10Yds is off the path it is a film canisters just pull the lid to open .
This part of the T P T was part of the old British railways network before Doctor Beeching axed most of local railways lines all over the country in the early 1960s. One of the last great steam locos to run on this line was the Flying Scotsman. This was not its normal run, and it was taken out of service before it made this run form Doncaster to York, filled with steam train enthusiasts. On a normal working day steam locos with 30 open top wagons used to fill up with coal at Barnsley Main colliery ( just a half a mile up the track from here) and deliver to the power stations in the north
