This is the church I attended my whole childhood. I can remember playing in the creek after a good hard rain. We had no aircondtioning so the windows were always up during summer services. It would be so hot that most of the younger kids would be tucked up under their Momma's arm asleep. Hair soaking wet from the heat and lack of airflow. It seemed every who attened had their "family pew". My family took up two. Most of the time there was an average of 7 kids living at home. Don't be caught nodding off if you were one of the olders kids in my family. Or you might just get a tug of the hair at the nape of your neck.   One of my "not" so fondest memeories of Dry Valley was the outhouse. No plumbing! Oh what and (un)blessing that was. Homecomings were such a fun time here though. Playing sotf ball in the side of the graveyard. Bible School was something I couldn't wait for. Looking back I can remember some of us kids walking 2 miles to attend. Which is something I would have never let my kids do. Such a tight knit family church. Oh and we had Halloween parties too. I mean real, dressed up, scare you to death costumes. Never could understand that though. Hayrides, some of the best. They were so much fun!  Christmas pagents with 'real' Baby Jesus. Seems someone always has a newborn around that time of year. Times have change so much. Funny how we find ourselves looking back and telling stories to our children of days gone by. Just as our parents did.

Cache is a preform. Placed in a place I am sure kids are making memories today.
